What God Did in Nepal

In May we had a team for over two weeks serving in Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. 

We visited homes and remote village churches, sharing the love of Christ in simple and meaningful ways. 

Here is a glimpse of what God did through your prayers and support:

Hosted a meet-and-greet gathering with over 50 pastors

Served more than 1,500 meals

Shared the gospel in 16 different locations

Held our first youth conference in Kathmandu

Provided medicine to the needy

Committed to building two new church buildings

Your giving also provided: 18 piglets, 28 goats, 40 chickens, 24 bicycles, 8 sewing machines, 15 warm blankets, 110 Bibles, 300 children's Bibles, 23 Fire Study Bibles, 3 iPads for pastors and leaders, 5 manual hand water-pump projects, and 5 water buffaloes. Plus 25 soccer balls, 12 frisbees, and plenty of candy for the kids.

One team member, on his third journey to Nepal, put it this way: "What is going on in Nepal is truly book of Acts type stuff. The Church is growing rapidly. We witnessed congregations that had outgrown their buildings and an overflowing house church. When it was time to worship, everyone worshipped. When it was time to pray, everyone prayed. I can tell you without exaggeration that the New Testament church is alive and well in Nepal."

He also reminded us how great the need remains: an estimated 29 million souls in Nepal are unreached. Many have never even heard the name of Jesus.

Another team member, serving in Nepal for the first time, was struck by something unexpected: "The poverty was what I noticed right away, and my first response was to feel sorry for these people. Then you enter the services. Worship often started before we ever arrived, and the Spirit of God was moving. I quickly realized that although they may lack natural things, these precious people are rich spiritually. The sorrow I felt for them shifted, and I began to feel sorrow for the church here in America. They have so little, so they rely so much on God. We have so much that our actions say we don't really need Him."
