A New Hope Has Risen!
April 21, 2019
Death! It is always prominent in human lives. As I am writing this blog, thousands of people have experienced this bitter experience of death. There was a time when there were no hospitals, medicines, and doctors. Now we have all this. We are in the modern era where everything is in its climax. But still, death is reigning over people. Everyone has to leave this earth one day. Whether he is poor or rich, scholars or uncivilized, healthy or sick, all have to face death. Humanity has reigned over everything. All are under the submission of human beings, but death is not. Humankind are under the reign of death. Paul understood this clearly, and he says this in 1 Corinthians 15:54, "death is swallowed up in victory!" The question of mankind in history was, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
Something amazing happened two thousand years ago. That event is one of the most important events in the whole human history. A man named Jesus was born in the nation of Israel. He lived a perfect life. He did many miracles. He calmed the storm. He turned wine into water. He was a wandering teacher. His teaching was very powerful. Some even took him as a revolutionary. He had twelve disciples who were called Apostles. His life is mentioned in the four gospels in the Bible. The leaders in Jerusalem took him as a threat to the entire nation. At the end of his life, the leadership in Israel was against him. The chief himself said this, “Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.” (John 11:50). Therefore, they crucified him unjustly. The authorities in Israel were very happy with that. They thought that death has reigned over this man named Jesus. They took him as an ordinary person who is indisputably under the reigns of so-called enemy death.
It was one the morning of Sunday. Jesus was on the tomb for three days. Some women visited Jesus. They found that the big stone on the gate of the tomb has been removed and the body of Jesus was not there. An angel of the Lord appeared among them and declared to them, "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay" (Matthew 28:6). The ladies were filled with confusion, joy, and fear. They have heard the greatest news ever. Their master has conquered death. Death was armless, now. The fear and dominant of death were over. Death was defeated after this Jesus appeared more than ten times among his disciples.
The resurrection of Jesus was a new beginning of new HOPE. Now the death is conquered by our Lord. We are also victorious with him. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, "but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." YES, our Lord is risen, our hope has risen. The terror of death is over. Jesus our mater is has conquered the death. With the resurrection of our Lord, a new HOPE for humanity has RISEN. Glory to our God. Amen.
